Lead Based Paint
In 1978, a federal law was
passed banning the use of paint containing the metal lead. This law
was passed because lead-based paint was determined to be a potential
health hazard.
As part of this law, any
home seller is required to disclose any knowledge he or she might
have of any lead-based paint on the property. In addition, all
Buyers must be provided with a copy of the pamphlet “Protect Your
Family from Lead in Your Home.”

Real Estate Glossary
Mortgagee: the lender in a mortgage agreement. Mortgagor - The borrower in a mortgage agreement.
Ash dump : A small opening located in the hearth of a fireplace having a cast iron cover, used to dump the ashes down into a cavity below the fire box.
Lock-in Period: the length of time that the lender has guaranteed a specific interest rate to a borrower.
Original Principal Balance: the total principal owed on a mortgage prior to any payments being made.
Credit: an agreement that a person will borrow money and repay it to the lender over time.
